This article is the real deal. So Launch is made in China no matter where you buy it. The manufacturer then sells them to distributors around the world, in the US it's Launch Tech USA, then they label different versions of Torque, Pad 2 and 3 etc. They don't make what they buy to resell or to tool suppliers to license like Matco etc. Each company adds minor changes to the look and name of the device, but at its core it's the same machine with the same software updated annually from the same server. Finally, you need to contact China or the seller here for after-sales service. I had an issue where I deleted everything on the tablet and couldn't get it to work. I contacted the Chinese manufacturer and seller and both had great customer service. not as easy as calling the tool truck guy or the Launch Tech USA hotline, but MUCH cheaper for the same machine. An American company and a manufacturer are competing in the American market, and that's the difference, it's not fake, it's just not licensed to an intermediary, and there's less money. Great scanner at a great price. Great addition to our shop.
