I think many people buy them to give new life to an old sofa, but I bought it for my new sofa. My cat ruined my last couch, but it was also a crappy couch to begin with, so I didn't care. I recently got a nice new sofa and wanted to protect it from my cat's fur and claws. i like this thing It's super soft and comfortable. When I first put it on, I lay down to check it out and fell asleep for several hours. It's like a bed sheet on a sofa. I am very happy that I can wash and replace it while keeping my sofa in good condition for a long time. It also looks great. I think mint is a very nice color. I would have liked a brick color or lighter options but it's still good. If there were more colors I like I would buy more and just switch them up like I change the sheets on my bed.
