Useful electric pot but with limited control and size

This Larjie electric pot is very handy for cooking things that need to boil water - ramen, rice, noodles. Haven't tried using it for other cooking tasks yet, but I doubt it will be hot enough for frying. This electric pot looks like a regular non-electric pot when not plugged in; The only indication that it is electric is the switch on the handle and the socket for the power cord at the end of the handle. It has a standard power cord socket (C13, the same type as your computer or many other electronic devices) so you can swap out the cord for a longer or shorter one. I'm a bit concerned that this is an ungrounded wire, but since the pot is plastic and non-conductive I think it's fine. In terms of functionality, you have a slide switch on the handle that has positions for off, low. , and high. I believe the low level is about twice as weak as the high. Even low power heats up pretty quickly; On high power, I can boil 6 cups of water in about 10 minutes. It has a feature that turns the heat on and off once you get to the boil. It comes with a lid and steamer basket, both of which fit snugly. The lid is almost too tight when warm, you need a bit of force to remove it. It has a non-stick coating that has worked well so far, hopefully it will last. It's relatively lightweight, making it easy to pick up. So cons: 1) The switch is difficult to set in the middle (low) position 2) The pot is a single unit, you can't remove the metal part for cleaning. . This means that you have to be careful when cleaning so that water does not get into the holes in the bottom of the pot. the water in it does not overflow when cooking. 4) Although the handle is easy to hold, it takes up more space. 5) Difficult to carefully pour the water out of the pot - for example when you want to pour ramen. in a bowl e.g. Overall I would definitely recommend this if you are in a situation where you don't have access to a stove but want to cook something - dorm room, RV, broken stove, office etc.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
