I actually bought these to protect my hands and arms when playing with my dog. He has some issues (which we are working on) and neither I nor the vet can clip his claws. He LOVES playing with his toys when I try to take them away and he attacks and my hands get terribly scratched. Not playing is not an option, will whine incessantly. I decided to look for something to protect my hands and forearms and they work great! They're a little loose but probably smaller than the men's versions (I wear the small ones with medical gloves). They fit about halfway up my elbow and the wolverine's claws won't go through! I'm very glad I found something that allows me to play with my dog while we work on her problems.
