I originally bought the medium size as I'm 5ft 9" and 147lbs. After the first 5-10 minutes I felt very restricted. I returned the medium size and bought a large. not to the point of embarrassment. With fleece inside I stay very warm. The polyester/spandex blend is smooth on the outside and won't cling to the outer layer of clothing. I machine wash cold and let them air dry so they don't shrink. Also, they are tagged (size is inside), nothing chafes against the skin. Nice inside with the thermostat set below, or as an extra layer of protection outside to wear in autumn and winter buy a second pair good value for money.
