I love them for cooking in stainless steel pots. These pans always seem to get hotter and I've had tongs that melt. They work great and withstand high temperatures. As other reviewers have pointed out, silicone tips can crack over time as there is a piece of metal inside, so I try not to put too much pressure (more than normal use) on the tips. so the metal doesn't break through the silicone. I don't use them to scrape tasty bits off the bottom of the pan, just to lift and move things. My only complaint is that they are a bit difficult to fully clean in each of the tongs. . The way the silicone attaches to the metal creates a pocket that collects fat like a magnet. I have to use the brush and spray the hottest water to really clean them. I don't like greasy stains between uses, I like everything to be shiny clean so I just have to take my time. A small price to pay for an otherwise excellent product.
