I bought this HD OTA antenna to cut the cable. Thus, the antenna works perfectly (receives 50 channels) and allows you to use my TIVO OTA without any problems. My home is about 35 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The antenna was positioned about halfway up my two-story house and pointed directly at downtown Chicago, where the broadcast signals come from. Using the provided 33 foot cable, I connected the antenna to the existing Comcast cable entry point and installed the signal booster inside the house just before the junction of the cable wires running throughout the house. I was impressed that I could get a clear, stable signal on multiple TVs at once in my two-story home. Prior to using this product I have used various internal set top boxes which worked well but were very inconsistent and required constant repositioning. This open one is clearly the best option. Based on other reviews I would suggest this product works best if you are within 50 miles of a large city with a strong broadcast signal. A clear view is also important. You may need to mount it near a roof if you have many trees or other obstacles in the direction of the broadcast signal.
