I mostly use self curing or pre-inked stamps but there are always a few old fashioned stamps on a stick that require a pad and they are custom made and occasionally used in a box so should be a stamp pad. My old metal case, a raised upholstery pattern, has been repainted countless times, but it's gotten sticky and clearly dated, so I ordered this one. a built in plastic case, the ink pad itself is completely flat and not rounded at the edges like the old traditional one, and the surface of the fabric is so thin that I had to turn on a bright light to make sure it wasn't foam rubber or felt .
