The size is right, transferring 1GB JPEG photos to a USB 2.0 drive from my computer through the USB 2.0 port averages about 4.2MB/s . Transferring JPEG photos back to the computer was much faster at around 170MB/s. There's no LED on the unit, which might be a good thing if you don't need one, but the lack of an indicator is too odd for me. I don't like the outside switch cover because it doesn't keep out dust, lint, moisture, etc. If you have a USB cover, the pivot cover can slide over it, so that's a good thing. The lid also locks in the fully open and fully closed position. The price is quite cheap. It's good to have a few small storage devices on hand to share with others or take to schools and libraries so it's not a huge financial loss if you never get them back. My first USB stick was a 256MB device released in 2006 and it still works. So it may be some time before I see how long the Unirex USB stick will last with me. I needed a new small drive that isn't too small, so 16GB is a good size for sharing oversized photos, videos, powerpoint presentations, etc.
