The house we received had two different filtration systems installed in different locations. One is a GE 3 stage reverse osmosis system and the other is a 6 stage UV stage filtration system. I had to go through a rigorous 12 hour ritual to replace the GE filters, which involved a sanitization process using a chlorine filled sanitizer cartridge, then flushing/emptying the tank several times until the water ran clear, and finally replacing with new filters and membranes. . The manual says to flush the tank 4 times but I tested the water with my pool test kit after each flush and it had a lot of chlorine more than 4 times so I had to flush it 10-12 times! Even after all that and the huge prices on filters and water bills, the TDS counter reads 13. For comparison, our tap water is 110, a 6 stage system that has never been cleaned or filters changed reads 5, and the pitcher with zero water. shows 0. Now tell me if this system is worth the hassle and cost. On the bright side, the water tastes a little better than a jug of zero water, but it doesn't even come close to a 6-stage filtration system. Thanks for reading and YMMV.
