Bought this because I need a text to speech device that won't break the bank. I also wanted something that says the street names out loud because I can't safely look at the screen while driving. This is fully compliant. Instructions aren't the best and forget about tech support calls. For example, I couldn't figure out how to get it to repeat instructions for an upcoming exit. Tech support told me this feature doesn't exist. Yes, it is included in the 83 page CD version of the manual. But it's easy to understand and program. It's fast. For example, I had to turn left onto a city street and then turn right. I knew I could stop the left. As soon as I passed the intersection at 30 km/h without turning, the device told me to turn left. When I turned off the freeway into the rest area, I was less than 10 feet off the freeway when I was told to go to the end of the rest area and come back. It does what I want and does it without a huge learning curve.
