These fit perfectly on my purple Kenmore vacuum which I have had for many years. You can't just switch bags. You should change all filters from time to time to maintain maximum airflow and reduce stress on the aging engine. Especially since I only use paper bags because cloth bags are too expensive and I don't have any allergy problems. You really have to be careful when inserting it. If you don't do this, the white cloth will clump together and reduce the effectiveness of this filter since the foam alone is not enough. This is a very powerful vacuum, so you don't want to suck dust flying out of the bag into the motor. Overall a good quality replacement and much cheaper than buying from a Sears store.
