I should have thought about it when I gave it 5 stars but in the end I did it because it's a value. In my opinion these are long lasting glows - the wires are thicker and the LEDs are protected from the usual knocks of unboxing and pulling. They're not the cheapest, but I think they'll last me a few years. What some would give it four stars for is the colors. They're not intense, deep colors like Philips light filaments, but they're then 1/3 the cost even if you already have a bridge for these lights like I do. These colors are more pastel and some may prefer them. Green and blue are more pronounced. Orange and yellow, beautiful and pleasant. Red, well, to me, red borders on dark orange, but people will argue about whether this sweater is red or orange. In general I like the color effect as they slowly transition from one color to another. This is my preferred setting, but there are others to choose from and the transition speed is adjustable. I really like that the length of the plug, the unlit part of the light filament, is about 8 feet to get to the outlet. This is on a 16.5 foot backlit section. That way it reaches the outlet and doesn't burn the section of cord I want to hide.
