Feels solid in hands, thick heavy casting and the machining looks nice. I didn't have a temp gauge on my transmission prior to installing it, but I can tell you that after 4000-5000 miles my temp gauge doesn't get much above 150 (it usually takes a long steep climb to get it above 150) and usually stays there Temperatures from 45 degrees and above to 150 and close to 125 when freezing at or below. I know it's a passive cooling part, but I believe it supplies cooler fluid to the transmission. I will update when riding in hot weather, so far everything has been cold to moderate weather. I would recommend buying a better gasket and replacing the filter.
