The great thing about this hub is that it comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter and attaches directly to the cable . This means you can use it with old or new laptops. Rather than having a USB hub for one computer only to find another computer needs a USB connection. So you can travel with just a hub and be assured that you can use it with any computer you come across. I don't use more than one video connection, but it's nice to know I have the option for more. And it's great to see that it has VGA support, as you might run into that when trying to connect to older sites that don't have an HDMI connection. Add a network cable connector and you have a very versatile hub that should work in almost any situation. I've been using it for a while now, but the build quality seems good. I don't scatter it around and all cables are prone to failure if used too roughly, but I see no reason to worry at this point as everything appears solid and well constructed. I even like the textured finish that makes it less prone to slipping out of my hands. It is also nice that the hub can have its own power supply. It might not charge, but if I ever need to connect two portable hard drives at the same time, unpowered hubs sometimes can't power multiple portable drives at the same time, making it impossible to transfer files between them. This changes the ability to pass-through charging to be able to convert the USB connection to USB-A. So it just depends on what you need to know if this hub is for you. So it's a good, reliable hub that's better than most if you're working between multiple USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, and VGA computers, or if you travel frequently and need to use whatever computers you can find locally , for integration with your equipment.
