I needed something a little taller than a tripod and I figured an adjustable one would work best. But I never use the customization. I keep it at the lowest level because it's already a bit high there. But at this height, my mic sits perfectly in line with my face, which is perfect for my dynamic mic. It's solid enough, even with a nearly 2-pound mic on it, it takes some force to knock it over. Has a rubber insert on the bottom that keeps it in place but also minimizes feedback when it hits the table. It's nice to have a cable clip and enough space to mount a rack, pop screen, or other accessory. All in all a great stand. . Couldn't be happier.
