As at least one other reviewer has noted, this thing is tiny. It can easily fit in the palm of your hand. If you can't make out it from the pictures, the device is powered from a wall outlet terminating in a mini-USB adapter; That means any generic mini USB cable should work with it. It draws so little power that a laptop's USB port can handle it. It gets a little warm, but I wouldn't call it hot once it's plugged in for a while. The temperature might just come from the small blue power light inside, which glows when the unit is on. I was able to successfully connect my slim PS2 console (composite cable) to my TV. I can't compare how it would look with a TV doing upscaling, but the device does a pretty good job of converting signals to HDMI. The only criticism of the picture is that it flickers a little at certain times in some places. Other than that, the Playstation 2 looks pretty good on the TV and the sound was pretty good too. My screen flashed green briefly on startup, but then the colors went back to normal. The converter will not turn off if it is not receiving a signal from your gaming system or anything else. Your TV will display a "No Signal" message, but this is different than when the TV is not receiving a signal from the converter. You might want to plug the device into a USB port on your TV (if you have one), a power strip that disconnects when you turn the TV off, or just a splitter with a switch you can flip when you're done with it again . I have some concerns about durability. It seems that you can switch between 1080p and 720p when the device is connected to the network and it will restart itself, but I had some glitches when I switched to 720p. In fact, the TV sometimes failed to pick up a signal with this setting, although flipping the switch and turning the TV on and then cycling it on and off got it working again. Maybe the TV was just struggling because it's not at its native resolution, or maybe there's a small short that could cause problems at some point in the future. I had no problems with 1080p. I'll update my review if it dies quickly or something, but after only using it for a short amount of time it works just as promised and way better than I expected from the untitled snip.
