Just returned from a 3 day 700 mile trip up the California coast. This Chase Harper bag was the perfect solution to my luggage needs. As you can see in the attached picture, I installed the bag on the passenger seat and it fit perfectly. The bag had the double benefit of holding everything I needed for this trip and being a great backer. The bag attaches with two straps and also includes 4 loop straps for attaching the main straps. I attached two loops to the rear turn signals and two to the passenger footpegs. This allowed me to attach the bag firmly to the bike. When I got to my evening destinations, I simply unbuckled the two main straps and used the handy built-in handle to carry the bag away. The bag appears to be very well made and has strong zippers. There's also a built-in rain cover, but that wasn't needed for this trip in the California sun. Also, a very handy bungee mesh was built into the top of the bag, allowing me to temporarily stow an extra jacket that could be easily accessed at any time without having to reach into the main compartment of the bag. I admit that when I bought this bag I was really looking for a more permanent tail bag solution, but this is not my opinion, nor is it a permanent solution. This is a very good duffel bag that I will use on long night rides. With my saddlebags and hard case that I have mounted on my bike, I think this bag will allow me to carry 7-10 things and supplies for any trip I take. This one bag can easily accommodate a 4-day trip. When installed, the bag does not affect the driving behavior or handling of the V-Strom, even when fully loaded. This is a great bag, you can pay more for big brands but I really think you are just wasting your money if you do this. I would highly recommend the Chase Harper bag, if cared for it will last you many years.
