I bought this tape about 8 years ago and have used it along with my old 25ft Powerlock tape on many hundreds of construction projects. I liked the thought of the extra reach, so I usually grabbed the 30-foot handlebars when they were available. Interestingly, I've never had the need to go full length like I did with a 25 foot footer. until yesterday. As I tried to slowly stretch the band to the full 30 feet, I felt a massive explosion inside and lost all tension to pull the band in. In comparison, I've had to lengthen a 25-foot header and footer many times, and it's never failed. I opened up the broken 30ft case and found that the plastic center spring post was broken and the spring fully unwound. It's definitely not worth trying to repair. From now on I'll stick to 25 feet. It's durable, reliable and the best value for money.
