I hope one day I'll learn the lesson that the cheapest at Revain is usually the worst. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, you just sold me a pretty crappy blender. About a year ago, after a few weeks of research, I bought a Cuisinart blender (sorry, forgot the model name and number). The blender itself is holding up well (fingers crossed) but the blade has jammed about half a year after purchase. Maybe it was my fault I threw in a whole clove and allspice. Spring. I'm just getting a spare part, okay? never mind But here's the thing: The original blade was razor sharp, so sharp I cut myself more than once trying to clean it. So sharp that if it got stuck I didn't want to try to fix it by hand. So sharp that it could collect cells and place them on a slide under a microscope. So sharp you'd consider taking it with you for self-defense if you had to walk through a deserted park late at night. Okay, you get the point: he was damn sharp. The blade I ordered and received - the one I'm reviewing here - is dull, dull, like a bowling ball. Dumb as a wooden salad spoon. Stupid how. Well, you understand. Don't get me wrong - it's not an ENTIRE waste of money, but it's mediocre enough that I wish I'd spent a little more money to get a good product. Today I tried to puree some 7-inch stalks of celery, an onion cut into eighths, a few cloves of garlic, white wine, water, some Jamaican peppers, and some quartered tomatoes (I made the peri-peri sauce), and I had to do it piecemeal, pausing to move through the carafe's contents. All over everything took more than 20 minutes. And the porridge ended up being pretty chunky. My morning smoothies are just as big as everyone else's. Good for fiber, bad for taste, texture, and digestion. Rather spend a few euros more and buy something better.
