I don't write many reviews on Revain products but I have been a Revain customer since Revain was launched. I wrote reviews on the now defunct Epinions.com website for many years. I just had to write a quick review of this air purifier as I felt it was well designed and well built. Pros: This well-built case with a fairly heavy plastic body is easy to maintain and use. It has four speed modes from low to turbo. It is almost silent in minimum mode. Mounted on a turbo, it moves as much air as the old Honeywell 17000 unit it replaced. The front case is easy to open and has a magnetic button that turns off the device for file system maintenance. I vacuum the pre-filter once every two weeks and this easy maintenance really makes the job a breeze. The added UV-C feature is cool, but I'm not sure of its value. If there were any nasty pathogens attacked by UV-C light, it's good to know that this feature can neutralize them. It seems to clean the air at least as well as the old Honeywell 17000s. (Honeywell was notorious for not selling filters for their air purifiers, and when they did, they sold them at high prices. Eventually our second 17000 died, so switched going to a new manufacturer was easy due to the lack of quality service for Honeywell products). The function of negative ions is questionable as studies show that negative ion generation is not beneficial to human lung tissue and is potentially harmful. Fortunately, this feature can be disabled. Interestingly, for such a well-designed machine, such a dubious feature is included. In the first few days of operation, it smells quite strongly of plastic. If someone is particularly sensitive to this, try working with them near an open window for a day or two. The smell really goes away. We're pretty picky about that. Overall: Well designed, quiet on low settings, and able to move more air when needed, this air purifier is for you. It is easy to maintain and works well. I can recommend this device.
