More than 1 puppy in my litter ate these collars

Item description reads Break buckle feature for your pet's safety when 1 puppy in my litter ate these collars. Shoppers know what they are buying and will check collars to make sure they are securely fastened and check your litter DAILY to make sure no collars are missing. If something is missing, there is a reasonable chance that the puppy has eaten it. When the velcro collars for my March litter of 9 puppies wore out, I swapped them out for these collars which seem to do the trick: security, comfort, identification, D-rings for tags/leashes. I sewed the D-rings back onto the nylon because I was concerned the rings would snag on something and I could cut the thread so the D-ring could dangle later if we needed it. The D-ring can be easily removed with pliers to bend it. I recommend taking precautions when not using the D-ring (if the collar is eaten by your pup, the metal can pose a toxic hazard in the pup's stomach). Unfortunately my 11 pounds. An 8 week old puppy took off 2 collars and ate them. At first we thought our mother took off the collars and hid them, but a week later I saw a puppy with something in its mouth, I could only see the black buckle and yellow highlights (the first 2 missing were pink and blue). The whole collar was in the throat, ready to be swallowed. Luckily I was able to catch it in time. We looked everywhere for the first 2 missing collars and couldn't find them. Two weeks later, another puppy vomited one of the missing collars and continued to vomit. At the emergency veterinary clinic, an x-ray showed metal, an endoscopy was performed ($$$$) and the other collar was removed from the stomach. Note: More than 1 pup in my litter ate these collars. I got one, not one. "Safety" or "Quick Release/Release" collars, buckles are specifically designed to open/release automatically when pressure is applied, pulled, or pulled with sufficient force. The obvious downside to this type of clasp is that there is a greater risk of your pet losing their collar if it is a detachable style. And the possibility that they eat it. Shatterproof buckles are designed to stay closed when pulled no matter how much force is applied and are intended for pets that walk on leashes or harnesses. closes or opens when you pull hard on both ends of the clasp. Then decide if this product fits your needs. Check for missing collars daily. Depiction of kinked teeth: Rounded teeth will come off, but jagged sharp teeth will not.
