I just bought this filter set. All I can say is bravo. I used Propur G2.0 filters before. They were a little cheaper, didn't need a primer, and "did" the same thing. I became very dissatisfied with Propur filters. They filter no more than a gallon and a half a day. I called them to say the filters didn't work and they immediately sent me new ones with no questions asked. But they too were unreliable. So, to stick with them, I bought another set a year later because they changed their design to big white "candles". But they were very temperamental, and it took "too long" for them to start shedding water at sink rate. When you ask "why are you giving them 3 chances?" I believed in what they were doing and who was selling the product. Let's go to the present. I ordered my Berkeys by following online video instructions for proper inflation and instant BOOM functionality. Although the priming process can be a bit wet, it is very simple and straightforward. The only negative was that even after the 2 minute pour I had to rinse the water 3 more times before it ran clear. However, 3 cycles is approximately 6 gallons of water. This took Berka 2 to 2.5 hours. In the beginning it took Propur's a week to process this amount of water. So far they are as good as advertised. Time will tell their reliability. The black filter cones must be changed every 2 years. It is great! The need for Propur changes every year. Fluoride/arsenic supplements should be changed annually, which isn't a big deal since they're only $30-$40. walk!
