. I received the item as described. I didn't try to connect it to my phone, I just put it in my pocket so I can take it off to charge my phone with a Qi charger when needed. The smaller disc means I can use my Chi with ease and still be able to stay on the magnetic mount in my car. Didn't hit any "potholes" so I have no idea how solid the grip is over rough terrain. However, the metal parts are not too thick and the rose gold color suits my iPhone 8.
