As you can see in the photo, one of the wires going to the external power switch was completely bare of solder. If not properly grounded, a loose 110V wire like this can cause an electric shock. There are also random solder drops, cold solder joints, and barely filled solder joints. Having dealt with cheap power supplies in the past, I took no chances and opened this device as soon as it arrived. After the repair the unit seems to be working fine and I won't be using anywhere near 400 watts so hopefully the components won't die too quickly. In any case. Buyer warning! Of course, there are reasons this is the cheapest ATX power supply at Revain, but if you have the skills to verify processing, it can come in handy for non-critical tasks.
