Review on Digital Thermometer Instant Temperature Material by John Galbraith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The thermometer didn't fit back into the spatula handle

This is a really good idea for making candy. It's a lot easier to check the temperature of the candy while you're stirring it than trying to hold a glass thermometer or tape it to the rim of the pan, because that will never work. I used it today to make toffees. I pulled the metal part out a bit thinking it wouldn't work, but I screwed up and put too much water in it so it took too long to get to the right temperature. Anyway, I added more butter and sugar, brought it to the right temperature, and cooked the toffees. Unfortunately, after washing my new thermometer, I was unable to reassemble it. The top will not fit back into the grip. I'll send it back right after Christmas. Update: Apologies to the company that made this. I figured out what I'm doing wrong. I just had to turn it over. It doesn't look like it would work the way it was cut, but it did. i love it now I use it to make sure my hot tea or hot chocolate isn't too hot to drink. Now I'll never burn my mouth again.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • I'll add later
