I often defrost food under water. Especially when there are changes in dinner plans that require me not being able to defrost in the fridge all night. This item eliminates the need to constantly turn food over to thaw in the sink. I like the claw size as it holds a decent pack. Disadvantage: The suction cup is good, but still needs to be checked frequently, as it can lose suction power in a stainless steel basin, as the surface is never entirely smooth. I'm sure it would work great in a ceramic sink. The company's solution could potentially be a bigger suction cup, as that's the only (minor) downside.
