My work issued badge holder broke and I decided to purchase this one because of the carabiner. So far it works quite well for hanging the badge. Re-tractor works perfectly. It has enough tension to hold the regular badge. In 3 months of use there are no issues. The string appears durable enough, there is no visible wear on the string so far. Not sure how long it will last but it is better than my previous holder that used to chew through string in 2-3 weeks. I am very happy with this holder. I only wish that I could take off the belt clip from it and it would be a perfect holder. We use remaining holders for keeping the key in child's school backpack and it works for that too. Prevents key from being lost and allows our child to open the door without disconnecting the key from the backpack. Note that you can't disassemble and fix this holder if it breaks and that could be the only downside. For the price this is an excellent holder.
