This made getting in and out of the playground with my one year old son much easier and safer. I only had to stumble and fall face down once to make the purchase decision. Thank God I didn't hold my son when I fell. Yes, it's more expensive than it should be. But if options keep stepping over the edge of the field, risking falling again and potentially hurting yourself or your son, or paying $50 to score, the $50 is worth it. I would never forgive myself if I fell holding him and hurt him. In terms of quality, it is the same plastic as the gray playpen and the same quality. Yes, the gate part is a little wavy than the solid wall part, but that's because it's a gate. It will never be as strong as wall pieces because it opens and closes. I have no problem opening, closing or locking them with one hand. Although I found it easier to snap into place when using my foot to steady the base. And the deadlock is a nice feature, albeit unnecessary at this point as our one-year-old hasn't even remotely figured out how to open it himself. We've been using it for a month now and it opens and closes several times a day and seems to be holding up well. This includes an intense workout that my son does as he likes to sit outside on the playground and swing the goal back and forth. We have a roughly round playground that is very stable, even with a goal. If you try to install it so that the gate and its sides line up, they look flimsy. You should adjust it so that there is a slight bend at the junction of all the sections, which will add stability to the whole structure so little hands can't turn it over. I just wish they had scored a goal that matched the gray pitch. But as my husband pointed out, the bright colors make it very easy to find the gate.
