I needed the best lighting for my basement office and it seemed to do exactly what I wanted. Adjustable brightness and color temperature, remote control, fan and aesthetics. According to these indicators, this lamp fully meets all requirements. Great looks, three fan speeds, less noise than my computer fan, and easy to control with a remote. At the same time, the installation was almost a nightmare for the following reasons. * The instructions were absolutely useless. Call them instructions. (See image) * This light replaced a bare bulb light that had energized and neutral power jumpers to power a second light in the room through the same switch. This Headlight/Fan Didn't Take It Easy* The live and neutral wires on the headlight are non-standard colors. Orange-red is vibrant and black is neutral. They are very fragile 14AWG stranded wire and effective stripping for use must be done very carefully not to cut the wire. * There is no ground wire attachment point on the light bracket. 12 AWG solid wire, and it had to be spliced to the bracket's 14 AWG stranded wire, which was difficult and time consuming. In addition, we also had to include a 12 AWG wire that connects to the second lamp in the room. This meant it was necessary to have three each active and three neutral wires together in screw terminals. This was a process due to the very thin, fragile stranded wires from the light.* Attaching the light to the light was relatively easy once we completed the wiring. The moment of truth after turning the circuit breaker back on was when we held our breath and flipped the switch. HOORAY! The light worked great and also connected power to a second lamp in the room. The remote control functions worked exactly as intended and were easy to use. The fan is efficient and ideal for that basement with poor air circulation. Very happy with the system! Overall this is a very aesthetically pleasing and functional light and although the remote control doesn't come with AAA batteries it works great once switched on. Subtract one star for lack of actionable instructions; lack of grounding and poor fragility of live and neutral wires from the power supply of the lamp. However, it gets a moderately high FOUR STARS and deserves my honest recommendation if you don't mind installation issues.
