Review on Lang Tools 1486 External Retaining by Edgardo Ennis

I used these to remove the Heavy Duty Circlip from a New Holland LX665 Turbo Skid Steer Axle and although I was probably beyond his skill set I managed it , remove the locking ring a little and fasten it quite well. It was a bit of a hassle to loosen the locking ring, but that's to be expected from a heavy-duty locking ring with so much tension. The circlip pliers make a well-made impression and are equipped with many tips. The ratchet works well, especially when working with heavy duty compression rings. I would buy it again, I'm sure it's a good tool and should last a long time but don't expect it to remove locking rings from large equipment. This is what I would call a medium duty snap ring tool where you don't need a mechanical advantage to expand the snap ring!
