Best Buy is an American multinational consumer electronics retailer and e-commerce company founded in 1996. The company has operated on various countries like Canada and Mexico as well as Europe for a while. Best Buy, it seems is focused mostly on the mobile devices and other mobile electronic devices. Through the years since it’s inception and establishment, Best Buy had continued to expand and purchase other investments and businesses. While going through a little bit of information about the company, I was impressed to find out just how much of a business empire Best Buy had become.
The growth was very rapid and impressive. The expansion of course to a more globally oriented position was very much expected over time. When you hear Best Buy, you immediately think of consumer electronic products like video games and equipment, mobile phones and devices, music related equipment, car stereos, digital and video cameras, and also the home appliances sector.
Quite recently though it seems that the retailer company was hit badly by the Covid Lockdown in 2020. Even though the company reported a very high in trade in sales during the lockdown, it is the case that over 5000 employees were fired and many others forced into part time work. Definitely something went South.
Best Buy supplies a lot of brands in all of the categories I mentioned earlier and it remains a force to be reckoned with as one of America’s most popular and giant retail enterprise. The numbers for Best Buy will without a doubt run into the millions. Since the retail outlet is not quite present where I live, I have not yet had the opportunity to make my consumer purchases from them , but I’m quite sure it is very good.
