Item Description: Glass replacement for Ipad 3 screen (No LCD Digitizer. Glass only) PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A VERY COMPLEX REPAIR. the metal shell at the bottom of the iPad and the glass of this new screen. I ordered 2 (one from another seller) and this one had it and the other didn't. There is adhesive on the black "frame" that is easy to remove and attach. In addition, the screen itself had a cover on BOTH SIDES that is removable to protect it until the last moment when you connect and assemble the iPad. Cons: I wish there was a screen printed cable that plugs into the iPad's internal circuit board with a sticker on it, to "pull" it into the connectors on the board. If you've never tried to fix iPads before, this can be a tedious step. Another minus. However, the lack of credibility from less than stellar reviews is unusual. I understand. I received iPhone/iPad/iPod parts from other sellers that didn't work right out of the box. it could be gambling. BUT it is also very likely that someone will make a fatal mistake in such repairs. In addition to experience, this also requires the right tools. If this is your first time fixing an iPad screen, you have a lot to learn. In the worst case, you can short out the LCD backlight diode and render the iPad completely unusable, unless You want to send it to a microscope engineer to have a new diode soldered on. and it's not cheap. BUT if you've done this fix before, do it. Crafting Suggestions: Anyone making this repair will have the tools to do it. Skip providing tools and add a way to "pull" the ribbon cable into a connector on the PCB. Do I buy again or as a gift? I would buy it again if I needed an iPad repaired. I used to fix iPads for friends. NO LONGER. Not sure about the latest iPads BUT the old ones are a big problem. GLASS EVERYWHERE. and I'm not talking about pieces. I'm talking about microscopic crusts and splinters that are so small you can't see them. and there are hundreds of them as the screens on these iPads don't easily detach.
