This not only saves space on my very small desk (because it's smaller than a laptop lying flat), it also elevates the laptop monitor to a point encumbering mine Neck not so much. Because the stand allows me to place the laptop further away from me, it frees up more space to conveniently place a separate keyboard in front of it that's still far enough away for my arms to stretch out. The stand itself is very durable. and the rubber strips hold the laptop in place fairly firmly - I've had no issues and would highly recommend this to anyone using a laptop as a primary or secondary monitor.
