I have had this extractor hood for almost a month. I can say it won't last many years because it's plastic so wear and tear will eventually take its toll. I'm impressed with how well it works (chopping veggies, etc.). It's not designed for everyday handling of hard items like fresh turmeric and ginger, but as long as I cook it by peeling and chopping it into smaller pieces, it will handle them with ease. I like the smaller size, the ease of cleaning, and the cost. I'm concerned about overeating certain vegetables and possible wear and tear, so I try not to overdo it. I want to keep it longer before it needs to be replaced. I also appreciate the reverse button as it comes in handy when groceries/veggies get stuck. All parts are plastic (except for the strainer, part metal and part plastic, so some veggies will contaminate the plastic parts (this part needs to be considered). So far I'm not worried about that as long as it keeps working. understand why it got such excellent reviews and as I've mentioned so far, so good, especially considering the fact that it's mostly plastic and will eventually wear out. I use it twice a day for my dietary needs and I hope with time I will be able to use it more often with crossed thumbs I hope this review helps I am happy with my very first juicer/extractor I am grateful for the affordable price.
