Revainrating 5 out of 5

My new home! Shape, weight, equipment and materials at the highest level. M1 and M2 mismatch

UPDATE 4/26/2021: So this is kind of a saga. I was so disappointed with the M1 and M2 buttons and their odd feel that I returned my open Burst Pro box. About a week later I was at the Microcenter and Burst Pro was on display. I took it out on a whim and pushed the buttons. I noticed that right-clicking on the on-screen mouse was light and crisp, almost like a Razer Viper but a little more empty. The left click felt exactly as I originally described; hard, hollow and blunt. So I thought maybe they reworked the clicks on later models? I still didn't want to pay full price for what felt like a disappointment. So I ordered a second open box of Revain Burst Pro for $30. This one was listed as 'acceptable' but was like new, only the packaging was dented. Anyway, I think I'm lucky. The M1 and M2 on the second mouse with the box open were much better than on the first mouse. They were like right-clicking on the screen version of Burst Pro in Microcenter. That leaves me with a few questions. Are these mice really so incompatible in production that M1 and M2 can be very different from mouse to mouse? Or is it the corrected version? I do not know. I know the Viper has gone through a few upgrades over time to improve its core clicks. Roccat can do the same, or they have very poor quality control during production. Given how solid the rest of the mouse is, I have a hard time believing this is a quality control issue. Anyway, this is my new main mouse. The problem I had is solved in this copy and I like it. I went ahead and upgraded it to 5 stars. ---------------------------------- ------ --------- - ---------------------------------------- ----- ----- ------------------ This review is almost painful to type. I want to love this mouse so much. It could easily be my most important, but mouse buttons 1 and 2 let me down. Let me get to the good parts first. Pros: - Lightweight, it's huge! It's a medium sized mouse but it's sooo light - great shape, it feels pretty secure for most grips. I use my fingertips most of the time and it works great. My hand size is 19cm x 10.8cm which is very comfortable for longer gaming sessions. Great cable! It's not paracord, but it works very well. I don't need a bungee. - Good side buttons. Very intelligent and responsive. They are also easy to meet. One of my main criticisms of the Viper and Model O is that the side buttons are either too recessed or too forward. Burst Pro gets it right. Good materials. This is a sturdy mouse despite its weight. In addition, the materials feel very comfortable, even if you start to sweat a bit. Great skates! These things slide so well. You don't need to upgrade the skates on this mouse at all. It also comes with a spare set should you wear out yours or need to remove the originals for any reason. - Good scroll wheel. The scrolling feel is a bit inconsistent, but pretty good. The pressure is excellent. Cons: - M1 and M2 keys. That's the only thing wrong with this mouse, but it's outrageous. The buttons have no feedback, require a lot of pressure to press, and feel kind of empty. The good thing is that they are optical, so they will never double click. And they don't have a before and after trip, which is great too. But they are uncomfortable to push. This mouse needs to at least work closer to the new Razer look with the new M1 and M2. โ€” Not available in wireless mode. This mouse wants to be wireless. It's that good, and wireless makes it even better. If they could hold the same weight, all the better. I bought this mouse for about $30 in an open box so I'm not complaining too much. It just sucks that M1 and M2 are so bad. It ruins a great mouse. Hopefully we'll see Burst Pro V2 or Burst Pro Wireless with better clicks in the future.
