Review on Enhance Your Home Theater Experience with the PANASONIC DVD-RV32 NTSC/PAL DVD Player by Jesse Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very reliable and durable device.

I bought this Panasonic DVD-RV32 brand new and it is still serving our family well. It was the first we've ever owned. It continues to function just as it did the day it was unpacked some ten years ago. The original remote works perfectly. It loads faster than the newer Panasonic DMR-ES20 DVD burner we have, so it gets the lion's share of usage. I have no complaints about the device. The DVD-RV32 never failed except when trying to play a very badly damaged disc. This quality record is typical of ALL Panasonic & Technics equipment I have ever owned (phone, TV, VCR and various audio equipment). I still actively use a Panasonic receiver/tape/LP stereo I bought in the 1980's. To be honest, our DMR-ES20 had a small issue with some universal recordable media until Panasonic released a firmware update, but that's been fixed. the only major problem with Panasonic equipment. Our experience just doesn't live up to the bad reviews. We don't just throw away hardware when a new one comes out. We have been using our Panasonic equipment for a long, long time and do our best to buy the brand. Hardly any of us bother to use the player's fancier features or capabilities, but sometimes we do and particularly enjoy the jog/shuttle controls. on the front of the player. Basically we want the device to play discs (we don't do cable or terrestrial TV). We also think it's more reliable than the DMR-ES20 when playing badly scratched discs. The small size and the right shape of the remote control are bonuses in our book. We're not fans of big remotes or odd-shaped remotes. The remote's battery life is also excellent, and we've never had a problem controlling the device properly from a distance or from odd angles. Maybe we'll give this device to another owner soon. Why? Well, I've always wanted to have a DVD-RAM player with the DMR-ES20 and recently I've found other Panasonic devices that can do just that and more. It's certainly not because we're disappointed in him. I mean, having three different Panasonic DVD players at home is probably too much. I'm sorry if we leave it to someone else. You really have to appreciate quality like this, even if it's a bit "behind the times" after so many years.[.]
