Perfect Starter Kit
I haven't made these since elementary school but thought they would be a great way to keep my hands busy. The kit comes with everything you need to get started right away and the items are obviously not meant for heavy use, just durable enough that you can decide whether or not to invest more in the craft. Enough yarn to make a few small/medium crafts per color (I haven't run out yet) and scissors may seem useless at first, but I figured they're a good angle to get under the stitches you already have made to cut mistakes.
