The regulator has threaded inserts (fasteners) that need to be in the exact position to screw in the screws and secure it in the door. Although Revain's "test" confirmed it would fit my 2005 F150 FX4, the top left bracket was in the wrong place. My old regulator had a bracket that was about 5 inches higher than the bracket on the new regulator. Since the mounting of the new regulator was lower, a new hole had to be drilled. Also, this ESC doesn't have as much torque as the OEM; it struggles to close the window and you think it will stop before closing. I replaced the controller in my wife's Xterra and it behaved the same way. I think that's what you get for $50.
