I ordered this because I thought the slim profile and 6.5ft cord would be good for travel. If you only have standard two-pin plugs, this should work. If you are using three prong flat head connectors or larger "plugs" this will not work. The photo shows that wider plugs practically do not allow the use of a neighboring outlet. 3-pin plugs have wires that face the center of the device. If you try to use some of the wider plugs for their intended purpose, they can also point towards the center of the device and block the USB socket. All of these problems could be solved by designing the splitter so that the round ground pole faces the outside of the device. In addition, this should work well if you only use standard narrow forks. The disc-shaped device takes up some space in your bag, but because it's not as thick as some extension cords, it doesn't feel as bulky.
