I have to say this device works very well; It doesn't copy files, just photos and videos from your iPad and you have to choose which ones to add. There is an app, a free app that you need to download for it to start broadcasting. Once you've downloaded the app and inserted your flash drive, it will be linked automatically, so you don't have to do anything with the app itself. I can't talk about the iPhone because I don't have one, but both are Apple products. I moved all my videos and photos from my 128GB device to another flash drive through my laptop because my iPad was overloaded with photos and videos from my travels around the world. The only thing I don't like about this device is that only one end is protected (closed) at a time, there has to be a removable lid or cap to avoid damage. I am investing in a 128GB iPad/iPhone flash drive but they are cheaper on eBay. One star off due to unprotected ending and inability to copy files. I recommend, but not if you want to delete files. I will try another brand to evaluate their ability to copy files as well as photos and videos.
