I already have the same type (or even model) but from Hikvision. For the street I needed a wider viewing angle, so here I changed the 4mm to 2.8mm and voila, everything is fine. It interfaces with BlueIris CCTV software (highly recommended if you have a spare computer with recommended specs). The picture quality is good, there is a built-in microphone. To change the position of the date/time on the screen, you must connect to the camera using a web browser. It was fine until I ran into the issue that you need a plugin. When you click on a link for a plugin (displayed on a web page) do you get redirected to a PDF document? . After speaking to support they said I need the SeaMonkey browser (an open source browser) and with that I could see the video stream in the browser and reset the timestamp. The SeaMonkey website has revealed that the browser will be retired in the future. This is going to be interesting and I hope Amcrest works on a solution. If you only connect the camera to the DVR, ignore the above. And another thing is PoE (Power over Ethernet), you may need a 12V power supply or a PoE switch for the camera. I saw one negative review complaining about having to buy a PoE switch or power adapter. Of course you have to indicate that it is a PoE camera, which you read in the product description before ordering.
