Review on πŸ’Ž Recoton DVD647 RF Modulator: A Discontinued Gem from the Manufacturer by Chris Chincuanco

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy setup, good performance

If you have an old TV without RCA AV inputs (Antenna or RF jacks only), this unit is an easy and inexpensive way to connect it to your DVD player or A /V receiver or home theater system. Other methods, such as using a VCR as a buffer connection, usually result in problems caused by the VCR's copy protection system, making the end result unviewable, i.e. out-of-sync "scrambled" video and large fluctuations in brightness. Tuning with this RF modulator is very easy. Simply connect the RCA cables from your DVD player (or home theater) to the colour-coded connectors on the unit. Then connect the RF modulator to your TV using a standard coaxial RF cable ("VCR"). Finally select channel 3 or 4 on your device according to your preferred VHS TV input channel and you are good to go! I find this RF modulator to be very good value for money. (Note: If you have a very old TV with only the screw terminals of the antenna, you may need to purchase an additional 75-300 ohm matching transformer.) that this RF modulator offers very good value for money.
