I may have missed it in the description but they don't actually have an open tongue. They slip into shoes. It is very difficult to put them on. He said they felt good after we finally put them on without us being able to stick our tongues out, but at the end of the day he said they hurt and never wanted to wear them again. looser. I will be keeping them to see if my youngest will find them easier to put on when he is a bit older but if slip ons are difficult for your child to put on I would not recommend them.
