Review on πŸ’Ύ Seagate BarraCuda Pro 6TB Internal Hard Drive - High Performance SATA HDD with 6GB/s, 128MB Cache, 3.5-Inch (ST6000DM004) by Michal Wasowicz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I can't say that I was completely satisfied with the product.

I chose the drive based on the Hard Drive Failure Rates of the Backblaze cloud storage. Both the ST6000DX000 and the ST6000DM000 showed good dependability there; however, as we don't sell the ST6000DM000 and the ST6000DX000 costs more than 41,000 dollars, I opted to test out the DM003 series instead. Is it possible that the number 3 at the end refers to the third grade and not to marriage, and that they are arranged in order of surface quality, or did I just have bad luck with this particular specimen?

Pros
  • ST6000DM003 - high capacity for a modest price, silent. My preference for Seagate dates back more than 15 years; nevertheless, in recent times it has been disappointing me. Okay, another 80GB worked as a system drive for 5 years before it broke down; however, only recently an archive for 1TB that was 8 years old and had an STM31000340AS ceased being read. This archive was used once a year for archiving purposes.
Cons
  • The reading pace is inconsistent. On a surface reading test, Victoria does quite well with this strategy. I purchased it from Onlinetrade with order number 20227082 on October 4, 2022, put it through the necessary tests, and received satisfactory results the following day. The test showed that hundreds of blocks had a read time of more than one second, and this was on a brand new disk; however, what will occur in the future is unknown. Generally speaking, I would not suggest purchasing anything from the DM003 series. When they went back to Onlinetrade, they likewise marked down the price by five percent. "found traces of operation" refers to the abrasion that was present on the contact pad of the connector. For the life of me, I can't figure out what the point of reading evaluations that either compliment or criticize a hard disk drive (HDD) for its speed, rather than reporting on how it performs in actual tests.

Has pros: Decently works as a file cleaner With its cons: Crunchy, no, CRUNCHING. A pack of crackers for 6 TB
