*** Stars. As mentioned in some reviews, some of the needle tips had burrs. As a jewelry lover, I had the tools to fix them. (Rotary tool, buffing wheels, buffs. White diamond at high speed, gentle pressure, then red blush at high speed, medium pressure.) It took me about 5 minutes to smooth 4 tips. After repair, knitting is fast and smooth. The tips are sharp enough to make me regret squeezing them with my fingers. (That's a bad habit I'm working to get rid of.) The cords are flexible but not flexible, maybe a little stiff for those using the Magic Loop method. To try on clothes, you need to buy an additional cable or cable connector. The connection of cord and needle is smooth. I see some very thin threads (tip/fingers/sock) caught at the connection between the cable and connector. The meter/ruler is very simple. If you don't already have it, that's fine, but there are better ones out there. The needles themselves are US size and diameter engraved on the stem. Needle size labels can be useful for knitters who like to have multiple projects on hand. The case is spacious enough to hold an extra set of cables and most (if not all) of your knitting essentials. While the wrench gives you leverage on the cord, there's nothing for the needle. To firmly attach the needle to the cord, this set really needs to include a rubber pad. The length of the cord is calculated from the cord length PLUS the needle tips. Cable connectors sold separately. boo The quality control of the needle tips greatly detracts from the rating of an otherwise decent value set. With rotary tools and polishes, scratches, scuffs and worn surfaces are not a big deal. Without these extra tools, you really should invest in established chipsets. (Addi, Chiaogoo, HiyaHiya, or even other KP lines.) There are cheaper kits out there, but even the most casual knitter deserves at least something in this kit range. (I started with the Boye Needlemaster myself - I don't recommend it.) Assuming you get a set with no quality control issues, KP's Nova Platina is a decent first set of replacement needles. Based on what I got I would recommend you to buy something else.
