After buying a cheaper "visual" timer that broke quickly I spent the money on this one. Pros: - Beautiful design. Good size, child-friendly handle, timer dial protected by plastic cover. Sometimes the timer doesn't move after it's set. A couple of times it happened due to low batteries and other times it was just random and required intervention. It doesn't happen often, but the fact that it's not easy to tell immediately (visually or audibly) when a timer is counting down makes it a little less reliable. to better understand the length of time and create expectations, which is why I think it's a worthwhile purchase.
