So far we have used our desk phone for conference calling. It worked, but people at the end of the table were practically shouting to be heard, and we sometimes got feedback because the speaker was turned all the way up. We recently got a new phone system and decided to try a real conference phone to see the difference. Of course we won't be using our desk phone anymore! everyone at the table can be heard at normal recording levels, and the audio is loud and clear. Polycom got it right. I will say that the retail price for them is very high, so we bought this one used. I can't say it was used, otherwise it came unpacked from the factory and was an old configuration. They are big but we have a 12 inch table and it looks nice and doesn't get in the way. We'll buy a few more for other places. We use them with 3CX v14. Installation was easy, create or assign an extension, select the phone type as ip6000 and enter the MAC address and fill in all other required settings. You must use DHCP option 66 to provide an initialization link and you must download the latest firmware to the fw folder. We're already using Option 66, so all I had to do was upload the firmware.
