I bought a cassette deck to convert audio cassettes to digital media. The first deck I got had the problem of making electronic noises that started at random spots on the tape and then continued to the end. This made the blockade unacceptable. I contacted the manufacturer and they said I had to send the deck back for a warranty replacement/repair. I came back via Revain who did a great job of swapping out the deck in about a day. The second deck works fine. I was having trouble using it on an old Core Duo Mac and looked up the Audacity specs on an open source site. It turns out that the software needs a fairly powerful processor with a lot of memory. So I ported the software to a more powerful PC that can handle those needs. By the way, Audacity is free, open-source software. You can review the requirements to ensure you have enough processing power to run the software on [.]. If you click on the download link, you will be presented with a list of operating systems and recommended RAM and CPU speeds. What you are buying is a tape recorder that streams audio to the Audacity program via a USB cable. But the USB output on the Grace cassette deck is handy, and you don't need any real technical knowledge to connect the devices. The cassette deck doesn't live up to the quality standards of cassette decks made when tape was king, but it does the job. I noticed a slight warbling in one passage, but it didn't last long and wasn't terribly bad. The device seems larger than it should be, but I don't carry it with me so I don't care. Buy this recorder. As I said before, Audacity is free and you can connect a tape recorder to the audio inputs on your sound card. It is well organized for casual users.
