My Research Dump - HDMI 2.0 supports 4K at 60 Hz and offers 18 Gb/s bandwidth. The ANSWER to 4K at 60Hz is 18Gbps bandwidth. Bandwidth refers to the size of the channel, not the stream, so the transfer rate can be much lower than the available bandwidth. It can encapsulate other protocols that operate at other baud rates. On a Mac Pro, USB-C can encapsulate and transmit Thunerbolt 3, Displayport, PCI Express, HDMI, and more. USB-C on Mac Pro 2016+ has a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. Thunderbolt 3 offers 40 Gbps. Thunderbolt 2 offers 20 Gbps. Displayport 1.2 delivers 17.28 Gbps == Specifically for this product, Acccell uses Displayport ALT mode to transmit data over USB-C and convert it to an HDMI 2.0 signal at the end. HDMI was developed by Media/Consumer Electronics with copy protection in mind. Displayport was created by the computer industry under a free license. It's working fine after 3 weeks of use, but getting 4K at 60Hz isn't permanent. It was intended to be used as an HDMI adapter capable of playing 4K at 60Hz but not relying on the 60Hz sequence.
